An organized Sunday

February 6th, 2005 at 07:58 pm

Today I am working on cleaning one surface at a time. DH and Nick have gone to visit his parents, and Stephanie is conked out on the couch. She had a busy weekend. I'm not feeling very motivated but the house is a wreck. It helps me to visit websites like Organized home.com and read the discussions. I have another box that is slowly filling with Salvation Army discards. This month if I shoot for one box a week I can reach that goal. As Flylady says, baby steps!

I only have one item up for sale on E-Bay. Here is something that has helped me to let go of extra things around the house. I check it's value on E-Bay to see what others are getting for an item. I have a hard time letting go of books, especially "old friends", and I think about how much each one cost me. It's easier to donate them when I see that they really have very little monetary value. My tastes have changed and there's no reason to keep books that I no longer enjoy- but I was holding on to them. Some went last week and more are in the donation box. It's not easy but I just keep plugging away.
