satisfying Saturday

February 13th, 2005 at 01:47 am

Well, here I am again. There's a nice fire in the fireplace and a few things got done today. So far I have only done three loads of laundry, but plan to work on that some more tonight and tomorrow. DH cleaned the family room and it looks very nice. Before DD is allowed to go out she has to do weekly chores. Stephanie cleans her bathroom, vacuums and mops the entry, kitchen and downstairs bath, and does the dishes. I've been doing the dishes lately because someone hit her in the arm with a door. Not a big deal, but the other things have to get done, one armed or not!

Tonight we had meatballs, baked potatoes and cooked baby carrots. The meatballs are called "porcupines" because I add rice to the mixture in order to stretch our meat budget. By the time I throw in an egg, breadcrumbs and rice, I can make a pound of meat into a good meal for the four of us. Plus, the kids love it!

Sometimes in the morning I just want something that's easy and quick to eat. I saved the leftover rice and will have that for breakfast. I add a small amount of butter and sprinkle with a cinnamon sugar mixture. Mmmmm...

Tomorrow is Sunday and I will have myself a regular sugar fest! Hehe. Lent consists of 40 days of "fasting" excluding Sundays. Bwahaha...

I listed three more items on E-Bay this evening. It's fun to watch the auctions and see what develops.
